Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-01 · Effective for all use of getinner.ai and the Inner API.

Plain-English summary. Inner scans software packages you point us at and tells you whether we think they're malicious. Verdicts are heuristic; we're not liable if we miss malware or falsely flag something. Don't abuse the service, don't scan things you don't have permission to scan, and pay for enterprise use.

1. Who this agreement is with

These Terms are a legal agreement between you ("you" or "Customer") and Inner Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Inner ("Inner", "we", "us"). By accessing getinner.ai, calling the Inner API, submitting a package for scanning, embedding a badge, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

2. What Inner is

Inner analyzes third-party software packages (npm, PyPI, and public GitHub repositories) and returns a verdict indicating whether Inner's engine and its AI classifier consider the package benign, suspicious, or malicious. The verdict is a heuristic assessment based on static analysis, sandboxed dynamic execution, corroboration against known-bad indicators, and machine-learning inference. Verdicts are advisory. They are not, and shall not be construed as, a guarantee that a package is safe or unsafe.

3. Acceptable use

You will not:

4. Accounts and API keys

If you create an account or obtain an API key, you are responsible for all activity under it, and for keeping it confidential. Notify security@getinner.ai promptly if you believe your key has been compromised. We may suspend keys we reasonably believe are being used to abuse the Service.

5. Pricing and free tier

Inner may offer a free tier with usage caps. Enterprise plans, higher rate limits, private-registry integrations, and SLAs are available under separate written order. Free-tier usage carries no SLA. We may change free-tier limits with reasonable notice.

6. Verdict accuracy; no warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. Without limiting the foregoing: Inner does not warrant that verdicts are accurate, complete, or free from error; that malicious packages will be identified; or that benign packages will not be misclassified. You are responsible for your own security review of any package before deployment.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INNER'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS FOR ANY CLAIM, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID INNER IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (b) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100). INNER IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or damages; in those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inner, its officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your reliance on a verdict.

9. Data and content

See the Privacy Policy. Package bytes you submit for scanning may be retained by Inner in transient sandbox storage and in evidence artifacts (hashes, static findings, behavioral traces) for the purpose of producing verdicts and improving the Service. We do not sell scan data. We may publish aggregate statistics (e.g. counts of scans, verdict distributions) that do not identify you.

10. Third-party services

Inner uses third-party providers, including OpenAI (for verdict classification), Supabase (for storage), Vercel (for the web and API layers), and Amazon Web Services (for the analysis sandbox). Their availability and terms may affect the Service. Inner is not responsible for third-party actions or outages.

11. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice when practical.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction there. To the extent permitted by law, each party waives the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
